98年、24歳の時にこのアップルのCMを見て痺れました。



クレージーな人々へ。

クレージーな人たちを讃えよう。
はみだし者、反逆者。
トラブルメーカー。
四角い穴に打ち込まれた丸い杭。
物ごとを違うところからながめている人々。

彼らは規則が好きじゃない。
現状を維持するなんて気にもかけない。

称賛してもいい。
異議をとなえるのもいい。
発言を引用してもいい。
信用しなくたっていい。
美化しようと中傷しようとかまわない。
だか、彼らを無視することだけはできない。

なぜなら彼らは物ごとを変えるからだ。
彼らは発明する。想像する。癒す。
冒険する。創り出す。インスパイアしてくれる。
彼らが人類を前に進めるのだ。

確かにクレージーには違いない。
そうでなければ、他のいったい誰が
無地のキャンバスに
芸術作品を見ることができるだろう？
いったい誰が沈黙の中に座って
まだ作られていない音楽を聞けるだろう？
あるいは赤い惑星をじっと見つめて
車輪に乗った実験室を見ることが出来るのか？

私たちはそんな種類の人たちのために道具を作っている。
クレージーとしか見られない人々だが
私たちには天才が見える。

自分は世界を変えることができる、と考えるほど
十分にクレージーな人たちがほんとうに世界を変えるのだ。

To the crazy ones.

Here's to the crazy ones.
The misfits.The rebels.
The troublemakers.
The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently.

They're not fond of rules.
And they have no respect for the status quo.

You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them,disbelieve them, glorify them or vilify them.
About the only thing you can't do is ignore them.
Because they chang things.
They invert. They imagine. They heal.They explore. They create. They inspire.
They push the human race forward.

Maybe they have to be crazy.
How else can you state at an empty canvas and see a work of art ?
Or sit in silence and hear a song that's never been written ?
Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels ?

We make tools for these kinds of people.
While some see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.
Because the people who are crazy enough to think they canchang the world, are the ones who do.

Think different.
